If you've never been to Zarley's, you might not know where to start. The menu has personality, the names have character, and there's a whole vocabulary ("Made Gnarly," "Zarley Spread," "Subz") that makes a lot more sense once someone walks you through it.
That's what this is. A straight-up guide to everything on our menu so you walk in ready to order, not standing at the counter reading from the top while the line builds behind you. Read more about building the perfect custom Zarley’s sub in this blog post.
First, the Thing That Makes Every Sub Better
Before we get into individual subs, you need to know about "Made Gnarly" — because it applies to every cold sub on our menu and it's the thing that separates a Zarley's sub from a regular sandwich.
When you order a cold sub Made Gnarly, it comes loaded with:
Tomato
Lettuce
Onion
Salt and pepper
Oregano
Oil and vinegar
Zarley Spread
That last one is our signature sauce, and it's the thing people ask about most. The combination of oil, vinegar, oregano, and Zarley Spread is what makes the whole thing come together. It's the reason a Zarley's sub tastes like a Zarley's sub and not just meat on bread.
Our recommendation? Always order Made Gnarly on your first visit. You can always dial it back next time, but most people don't.
The Cold Subz
Cold subs are the classic deli experience done right. They're served fresh, stacked generously, and best ordered Made Gnarly. Every cold sub comes in a half ($8.99) or whole ($15.99), and any of them can be turned into a salad bowl if you want to skip the bread.
The Zarley (#1)
Roast beef, turkey, ham, bologna, provolone — Made Gnarly.
This is the one that has our name on it for a reason. It's got a little bit of everything and it all works. If you're coming in for the first time and you don't know what to get, get this one. You can branch out next time.
The Charlie (#2)
Ham, bologna, salami, pepperoni, pepper jack, mayo — Made Gnarly.
Similar energy to The Zarley but a little punchier. The pepper jack adds some heat and the salami gives it a different flavor profile. A solid second order if The Zarley is your first.
Club It! (#3)
Ham, turkey, bacon, Swiss, Italian dressing, mayo — Made Gnarly.
The club sandwich is a classic for a reason, and this is ours. Clean, familiar, and consistently good. Great choice for someone who wants something reliable without being boring.
Italian Stallion (#4)
Capicola, pepperoni, bologna, salami, provolone, pepperoncinis — Made Gnarly.
This is the boldest cold sub on the menu. The capicola and pepperoncinis bring real Italian deli flavor, and if that's your thing, this one delivers. Probably not the first pick for someone who's never been, but once you know you love bold Italian flavors, it's hard to go back.
The Ricky (#5)
Tuna, mayo, lettuce, tomato — Made Gnarly.
Simple and done right. If you're a tuna sub person, this is worth your time. It doesn't try to do too much, which is exactly what a good tuna sub should do.
One Meat (#6)
Your choice of a single meat and cheese — Made Gnarly.
Exactly what it sounds like. Great if you know what you want or prefer a lighter, simpler sub. Also a good starting point for people who are particular about their sandwiches.
The Hot Subz
Hot subs are a different experience entirely. These are pressed and warmed, with melted cheese and toasted bread that changes the texture of everything. If a cold sub is a deli experience, a hot sub is closer to a sit-down comfort food situation. They're heartier, richer, and built to fill you up.
Same deal on size — half ($8.99) or whole ($15.99).
Chicken Bacon Ranch (#7)
Oven roasted chicken, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, ranch, Zarley Spread.
The most ordered hot sub we have, and it's not particularly close. There's a reason for that. Chicken, bacon, and ranch is a combination that works on basically anything, and when it's pressed with melted cheddar and the Zarley Spread, it really works. Safe bet for anyone, great choice for a first hot sub.
Zesty Chicken (#7.5)
Roasted chicken, bacon, pepperoni, pepper jack, jalapeños, chipotle ranch, Zarley Spread.
Same base as the Chicken Bacon Ranch, but with some serious heat added. The jalapeños and chipotle ranch push it into spicy territory, and the pepperoni adds something unexpected that actually works well. This one's for people who want more than just warm and melty.
Meatball Grinder (#8)
Meatballs, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, Zarley Spread.
Classic Italian-American comfort food done the way it's supposed to be done. Rich, saucy, filling. When you're craving a meatball sub, this is what you're picturing. Order the whole.
Creamy Club (#9)
Turkey, bacon, Swiss, mayo, lettuce, tomato, Zarley Spread.
A warmed-up take on a club sandwich that works surprisingly well hot. The Swiss melts nicely, the bacon crisps up, and it's one of those subs that hits differently than you expect it to.
Roast Cheese (#10)
Roast beef, bacon, Swiss, mayo, lettuce, tomato, crispy fried onions, creamy horseradish, Zarley Spread.
This is the most interesting sub on our entire menu. The crispy fried onions and creamy horseradish make it genuinely different from everything else on the list. If you're someone who usually orders the same thing every time, this is the one worth branching out for.
Make It a Combo or a Bowl
A few ways to customize your order worth knowing about:
Add a combo. Any sub can become a combo with a fountain drink plus chips or a cookie. It's a solid lunch deal and most people end up doing it.
Make it a bowl. Any cold sub can become a salad bowl for $9.99 — same meats and toppings, served over greens instead of bread. Great option if you're going lighter or just not feeling bread that day.
Half or whole. Every sub comes in both sizes. Half is a solid lunch, whole is for when you're actually hungry or planning on dinner being optional.
The Kidz Menu
We haven't forgotten the little ones. Our Kidz menu has a 4" option in three styles: grilled cheese, single meat sub, or pizza sub. The sandwich-only price is $4.99, or you can do a full combo with a side and drink for $7.49. It's a legitimate kid meal, not an afterthought.
Ice Cream, Smoothies, and More
The subs are the main event, but we're called Zarley's Subz and Ice Cream for a reason.
We have hand-packed ice cream, shakes, malts, and floats at both our Tulsa and Sapulpa locations. Our Tulsa location also has fruit smoothies and cold brew coffee — all on the Smoothiez & More menu. Getting a shake after your sub is a move we fully support.
